The meaning

MORGANTI JU-JITSU

 

In the mid-90s Morganti Ju-Jitsu was born. The first style of Ju-Jitsu in Brazil, was designed by Shidoshi Ricardo Morganti, who learn the style from his father, Paulo Morganti, a student of the famous Ono brothers, they are the people that was responsible for bringing Judo and Ju-Jitsu to Brazil. The idea of creating a teaching style and method was  created by the completion of Shidoshi Ricardo Morganti's Physical Education course at UNIFMU College. The style in 1998 was presented to the master Wally Jay founder of ISJA (International Sport Ju-Jitsu Association) who recognized him as a member of the organization and MJJ as an official Ju-Jitsu sport. From 2000, due to the huge amount of medals and the excellent work done, Ricardo then govern over the ISJA, this lasted until 2006 and left a legacy within the organization in Brazil being three time world champion with numerous Medalists. At the present moment, Morganti Ju-Jitsu has a world wide federation with a field of practice in more that 5 countries and keep expanding its work around the world.

 
 

Ju-jitsu and Jiu-Jitsu have the same meaning, and their writing in "kanji" (a Japanese font) is identical in both cases. The following "kanji" means JU: soft, flexible or free and JITSU: art or technique, respectively, so ju-jitsu means "soft art" or Flexible Techniques

Our  Mission

Maintain and preserve Morganti Ju-Jitsu. Centralized in a single federation. Preserve, publicize and graduate black belts through scientific and appropriate knowledge ; Promote competitions at national, regional and world levels; Ensure that its members are receiving training in accordance with the official curriculum as  with n regular evaluation system in place; Maintain level of  the quality of the black belts around the world. To be experienced in the refereeing of all types of  championships on all levels. Promote the art  of Morganti Ju-Jitsu with in the society of martial arts principles: of a accommodating, nonviolent art and hierarchy with in a ranking system around the world.

THE MORGANTI JU-JITSU

The Morganti Ju-Jitsu consists of:

 

- Kihon: Fundamental traumatic practical practices such as: bases, defenses, punches and kicks,

 

- Nague-Waza: the projection of ground techniques.

 

- Ne-Waza: martial arts techniques that are carried out on the floor

 

- Kata: An illustration of fight against one or more imagined opponents.

 

In Morganti Ju-Jitsu 7 katas are practiced:

 

Yang - Positive (Yellow Belt)

Yin - Negative (Orange Belt)

Hi - Fire (Red belt)

Rikuchi - Earth (Blue Belt)

Airon - Metal (Green Belt)

Mizu - Water (Purple Belt)

Mokuzai - Wood (Brown Belt)

Ju Kata - Soft Kata (Black Belt)

Fudo Miyo - (Black Belt -Third Dan)

RANKING BELTS

The sequence of belts follows the following order:

 

White (8th Kyu)

Gray (7th Kyu)

Yellow (7th Kyu)

Orange (6th Kyu)

Red (5th Kyu)

Blue (4th Kyu)

Green (3rd Kyu)

Purple (2nd Kyu)

Brown - “Senpai” the most senior student (1º Kyu)

Black -“Sensei” teacher responsible for the classes (1st to 4th Dan)

Red and White - Shihan (5th to 8th Dan)

White and Red - Shidoshi (9th and 10th Dan)
